Lethargic IITian Musings of a 20-something lethargic IITian on India and Catholicism. |
Wednesday, March 05, 2003 Today's gospel reading (Mt 6:1-6,16-18) reminds me of an episode of Charmed I saw on Star World not so long ago. In the episode, the three sisters (which included Pru at the time) face a demon that "infects" them with one of the seven deadly sins. The only way to break free of the sin is to perform a selfless act. Pru (who's infected with "Pride") is the only one unable to shake off her sin - despite nearly giving up her life at the end of the episode. The reason - pride is the one sin you cannot win against with selflessness (because even that feeds one's pride).
