Lethargic IITian
Musings of a 20-something lethargic IITian on India and Catholicism.

VHP President Ashok Singhal is the kind of person who sickens me when I think of India today.

"The Islamic forces have been dealt a body blow by the way the Hindu society reacted to the Godhra carnage," Singhal told a function in Lucknow after releasing a special supplement of the Vishwa Samvad Kendra's magazine.

"Gujarat has proved that the Hindus have awakened," he added

Over 1000 (2000 by unofficial reports) die in Gujarat and he has to say this. With all due respect Mr. Singhal (though I dont think you deserve it), what happened in Gujarat was not a case of Hindus being "awakened"; rather, a planned and well-organised ethnic-cleansing programme that found the right occassion to express itself. And I might add, Mr. Singhal - led by your cadets.
