There's a new blog on at St Blogs - Ad Orientem.

Yn lle allor, trestyl trist. ("In place of an altar there is a miserable table.")
St. Richard Gwyn.

With these words of a Welsh martyr who went to the chopping block for resisting the sack of the Church, we begin this weblog devoted to restoration of a sense of the transcendent in Catholic worship.

Incidentally, he refers to the Mass said "facing east" (or priest and congregation celbrating Mass facing in the same direction). This way of celbrating Mass is also employed by most priests in the Syro-Malabar Church, where it is part of the Chaldean Tradition.
