Saw this comment on Mark Shea's blog today:


Islam Means Peace
I am reasonably sure that no matter how many times somebody says our bishops wear funny hats, no Christian is going to blow somebody away over it.


What irked me was that first statement - "Islam Means Peace" - where Mark makes mistake of equating a religion with it's adherents. He says that no Christian would blow someone over the Bishop's hats - but what about the Inquisition? The Bartholomew Day massacre? If non-Christians were to equate Christianity with the behaviour of its adherents, would we be much better off than the man who shot two people because they made fun of his hat?
