More on the US and the International Criminal Court (ICC) - not only will the US not be party to the treaty; but it has also refused to assist the ICC with any investigation into any individual either. What continues to disturb me is the precedent set by the US by unilaterally pulling out of an international treaty - completely undermining the latter and paving the way for other disgruntled states to pull out in the future. A fitting analogy would be if a person could pull out of a contract unilaterally and with no fear of punishment in a modern society - the surest route to anarchy. I wonder if Bush has any idea what the hell he is doing here.

Then again, I hope he remembers this the next time someone decides to fly an aeroplane into an American landmark.
